Current Work
The Postural Management subgroup is still very active and regularly meets to continue its work in promoting integrated postural management. Below is a brief summary of the work the subgroup is presently undertaking.
Outcome Measures & Risk Assessment
One of the teams of the postural management subgroup is currently working on the development of an Outcome Measure Tool, split into two stages. The first stage is now ready to be piloted and it is hoped to be circulated among SPMN members and posted on the SPMN website. The feedback from this pilot will help finalise the Tool. Stage two will look at variances.
Following the development of the Outcome Measure Tool the team plans to develop a Clinical Risk Assessment Tool.
Professional Awareness & Training
Another subgroup team was recently formed and given a remit to look at professional awareness and training. So far the team has been gathering information on what training is already available, and has started posting this information on the SPMN website. This information can be found under our Resources/Subgroups section, or by clicking here.
The team has also put together a brief questionnaire looking at the training needs of professionals working in the postural management field and the type of training that is currently available. We would greatly value your participation. The questionnaire can be found by clicking here or via the link below and can be either posted or emailed back to the team for compilation. Participation can be totally confidential if preferred. Thank you for your help!
Review of Equipment
A new team is starting a review of equipment. Having met twice thus far the team is starting to gather ideas and background information about products, literature and how to access information. The final direction of this project is still under discussion.
